GHC-SCW has become the first health care organization in the world to adopt Epic’s new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Charting tool into their medical practice, marking a major innovation milestone in the future of patient-centered care and provider well-being.
Epic AI Charting uses secure, health care-specific artificial intelligence to draft visit notes as it listens to in-person or virtual visits, with patient consent. By reducing the need for providers to balance listening, typing and documentation during appointments, the tool allows clinicians to be fully present with patients while ensuring timely, accurate medical records.

With your consent, this tool listens in the background during your visit and helps draft notes in real time. Your provider reviews, edits and finalizes the notes after the visit. Nothing is added to your medical record without your provider’s approval.
Epic AI Charting helps your provider to be more present during your visit while still maintaining accurate medical records.
This tool is optional and is only used with your consent. If you prefer that your provider does not use it during your visit, you can let your provider know when they ask for your consent and your visit will proceed as usual.
Protecting your privacy is a top priority. Your information is handled with the same privacy and security standards as the rest of your medical record. Epic AI Charting is HIPAA compliant and uses a secure, health care-specific technology. Only your provider and authorized members of your care team can access notes created during your visit.
