If your experience at a GHC-SCW clinic doesn’t meet your expectations, let us know, and we’ll work to make it right. Upon your request, we can refund some or all of the out-of-pocket costs associated with your visit.

GHC-SCW welcomes patients who don’t have our health insurance plans.

Our primary care clinics accept patients who have other insurance, as well as those who don’t. Our mission to promote good health in our community means making quality care accessible to all.

If you have non-GHC-SCW insurance…

Check with your insurance company to see if GHC-SCW clinics are in your network. Most insurance plans also include cost-sharing for health care services. That means you might have to pay copayments, coinsurance or a deductible.

If you have insurance through the Madison Metropolitan School District…

We have an agreement with Quartz to allow MMSD members to continue seeing their GHC-SCW providers. You should check with Quartz on their requirements for referrals or prior authorizations for specialty services. We are grateful to be able to continue to provide high-quality care for MMSD staff through our new agreement.​

Choosing GHC-SCW for Primary Care

There are many reasons to choose GHC-SCW for your primary care. One of the most important is the way we focus on high-quality, complete care. We build a care team of health professionals around you. Your team is unique based on your health needs. Beyond your Primary Care Provider, it could include pharmacists, behavioral health providers and physical therapists. They work together to provide you care designed to meet your unique needs.

We want non-members to feel welcome and at ease seeking care with us. That's why we put together answers to help make the process of receiving care with us less daunting.

They will work with you to get the information needed to set up an appointment at one of our clinics.

To establish with a GHC-SCW provider, there’s a few simple steps you can take:

  1. Search for a Provider
    Use our Provider Search tool to find a GHC-SCW provider who is currently accepting new patients.
  2. Contact the GHC-SCW Call Center
    Call the GHC-SCW Call Center at (608) 257-9700 to initiate the process of establishing care. Our Call Center team will guide you through the necessary steps to ensure you are set up and ready to receive care in our clinics. They will also work together with the Medical Billing team to ensure that your billing information is set up for preregistration.
  3. Set Up Your GHCMyChart AccountSM
    Once you’ve been set up to establish care, you can easily keep track of your health information through a GHCMyChartSM account. Through your GHCMyChartSM account you can manage appointments, communicate with your provider and access your health records. Specialty care at GHC-SCW is primarily available to active GHC-SCW members and contracted providers. However, coverage may vary depending on your insurance plan. We encourage non-members seeking specialty care with us to verify with their insurance provider to ensure that GHC-SCW specialty services are covered under their plan.

We believe that all patients, including those who don’t have health insurance, have a right to timely, high-quality and compassionate care. Our primary care clinics accept patients who have insurance, as well as those who don’t, and we provide the same care regardless.
