Virtual Urgent Care powered by KeyCare is a way to receive 24/7, 365 urgent but non-emergency medical care without an in-person office visit. Members can be at home, in the office or anywhere else via the internet using their computer, tablet or smartphone.

KeyCare Virtual Urgent Care is a great option to treat a wide range of minor, routine medical issues, including:

No. You will be seen by a board-certified provider contracted through KeyCare.

Virtual Urgent Care visits are appropriate for any member who needs on-demand access to high-quality, care for urgent health issues. However, KeyCare is not available to Medicare Select, BadgerCare Plus or MMSD-Quartz patients.

KeyCare visits are free for most members. Members with a high-deductible plan will pay a $25 fee per visit until their deductible is met. After their deductible is met, KeyCare visits will be free.

  2. From the Menu select “GHC Care OnDemand.”
  3. Select which type of visit you would like to start:

KeyCare’s providers will have access to your medical history, so you will only need to describe your current issues and confirm allergies.

If you have a GHC-SCW PCP, it will show up on your GHCMyChartSM. If you have a non-GHC-SCW PCP, you will need to make sure you are sharing your GHCMyChartSM for it to show up.

Yes, you can use KeyCare Virtual Urgent Care when located in any of the 50 states, 24/7/365.

No, there is not a phone app for KeyCare. To access KeyCare, you just need access to GHCMyChartSM whether that be via the GHCMyChartSM app or the web browser on your smart device or computer.

You can access KeyCare through your GHCMyChartSM account on your computer, tablet or smartphone. All you need is a computer, tablet or smartphone to initiate the visit. You won’t have to create any new sign-ons or download additional apps. You can use the GHCMyChartSM App but it is not necessary.

E-Visits are a way to electronically receive 24/7/365 non-emergency medical care without an actual video or in-person office visit. Members can be at home, in the office or anywhere else via the internet using their computer, tablet or smartphone. During the e-visit, you will enter information related to your symptoms. This information will be reviewed by a provider who will provide a response with guidance through MyChart. If the condition is better treated with an in-person appointment, the provider will respond with their recommendation.

E-Visits are a great option to treat a wide range of minor, routine medical issues, including:

No, the E-Visit will be with a licensed provider contracted through KeyCare.

E-Visits are available for members ages 5 and older. However, ages 5-12 can only be seen for skin rash and eye problems and ages 12-17 can only be seen for skin rash, eye problems and upper respiratory symptoms. KeyCare is not available to Medicare Select, BadgerCare Plus or MMSD-Quartz patients.

Yes. However, proxy access will need to be submitted and approved before the visit.  It can take up to 7 days for KeyCare to approve the access. Therefore, we suggest parents/guardians set this up prior to care being needed. Visit mychart.keycare.org, create or log in to your account, click on the “Menu” and under “Sharing” select “Request access to your loved one’s account”.

Children ages 12-17 are able to set up their own KeyCare MyChart account with the consent of their parent/guardian and start an E-visit on their own.

  • If the visit is for someone else, select “Electronic E-Visit with a licensed provider (Proxy – For a child ages 5+ or someone else)”

KeyCare’s providers will have access to your medical history, but you will need to enter information related to your current symptoms via the questionnaires.

If you have a GHC-SCW PCP, it will show up on your GHCMyChartSM.  If you have a non-GHC PCP, you will need to make sure you are sharing your MyChart for it to show up.

E-Visits are available in 20 states. You must be physically located in one of the following states during the entirety of the visit: AL, CA, CT, FL, ID, IL, ME, MI, MN, MT, NE, NV, NH, NC, OH, SC, SD, WI or WY.

Members will receive an initial response within 2 hours of submission from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m CST. If it’s after 11 p.m CST., then the response will occur before 8 a.m CST.

Do I Need a GHCMyChartSM to access KeyCare E-Visits?
Yes. If you do not have a GHCMyChartSM account, please sign up by visiting ghcscw.com/ghcmychart.

No. E-Visits are asynchronous, meaning the visit does not take place in real-time. There is no face-to-face component to the visit. However, members have the ability to submit photos of their condition. (A photo submission is required for skin rashes and eye problems).

Yes, if medically appropriate. An E-Visit does not guarantee a prescription. It will be the provider’s discretion based on the symptoms and history of your illness.

Return to GHCMyChartSM and go to the Messaging Center. The provider’s message back will be here with instructions of the treatment plan and what pharmacy they sent your prescription to, if one was needed.

Controlled substances (i.e. narcotics, ADHD medications, anxiety medications) and lifestyle medications (i.e. birth control, erectile dysfunction medications)
